I didn’t know what to expect bringing Bella with me to Thyme for the first time, but honestly, I was really pleased with how smoothly everything went. Some places say they’re dog friendly, but you end up being restricted to one corner or made to feel like you’ve brought an inconvenience with you. That wasn’t the case here at all. From the moment I walked in, it was obvious that dogs were welcome. Staff greeted us both without hesitation, and while it wasn’t over-the-top fussing (which Bella doesn’t enjoy anyway). There was no pressure to order quickly or move along. I was able to properly unwind, and Bella stayed settled the whole time. I noticed a few quiet interactions between staff and another dog owner nearby (they seemed to know a few regulars) which made me feel even more at ease. It’s clear that this isn’t just a business decision to allow dogs. It feels like it’s part of the place’s culture. 10/10!
The overall atmosphere was relaxed but still felt like a proper place to sit and enjoy a break. A few other dogs were around too, and everything stayed calm. No loud noises or crowding, which kept my dog settled the entire time. It felt welcoming without being chaotic.
Thyme has a great layout for anyone visiting with a dog. There was enough space between tables, and the seating area outside was clean and well-kept. Max had plenty of room to lie down and didn’t get bothered or in the way. That sort of setup isn’t always a given, so I appreciated it.
What stood out most for me was how friendly and switched-on the staff were. From the moment I walked in with my terrier, they were relaxed and clearly used to having dogs around. No awkward questions or restrictions, just a warm welcome. That made the whole experience feel easy.
We loved how calm everything felt at Thyme. My dog Charlie settled straight away which doesn’t always happen in busy spots. The pace was unhurried, and we weren’t made to feel rushed. It made all the difference having that bit of space and quiet to enjoy our visit without constantly checking on the dog.
