More About This Place
BrewDog York has nailed the brief when it comes to giving dogs the kind of welcome they deserve. This is not one of those venues where a dusty bowl and a shrug pass as dog friendly. This place has raised the bar. It is loud fun full of life and somehow still manages to make room for your dog to feel completely at ease. That takes planning and effort and BrewDog York has clearly put the work in.
It starts the second you arrive. You do not have to guess whether dogs are allowed. You see it in the way the team reacts. There is no hesitation just a warm greeting and a staff member already reaching for a water bowl. You take a seat and your dog gets comfy with no fuss no limitations and no side-eye from across the room. This is a pub that actually wants your dog there and shows it with every detail.
There is a whole dog menu to explore with treats you will not find just anywhere. Whether your dog loves a biscuit or prefers something chilled this venue has something to offer. They have even got dog ‘beer’ which gets tails wagging from the first sniff. It is not just fun it is thoughtful. It says your dog matters here. That kind of attitude is what sets BrewDog York apart from other dog friendly bars and restaurants in York.
And then there are the pawties. Yes pawties. For six quid your dog can have a proper celebration. We are talking party hats a themed card a dog-friendly ice cream sundae and even a charity donation built into the price. Every booking sends £1 to Street Paws which supports dogs in need. It is a brilliant way to mark a birthday or just celebrate the fact your dog is awesome. And if they leave a good impression they might just land on the venue’s Paws of Fame wall. That means your pup gets a lasting legacy on-site and in the BrewDog social feed. Regulars know it is the ultimate honour.
This place is not just busy for the sake of it. The buzz has a rhythm and a purpose. The layout gives dogs space to stretch out while still being part of the action. You do not feel squeezed in. You do not have to leave your dog outside or battle for a tiny spot in the corner. It is big enough bold enough and totally geared towards people who bring their dogs wherever they go.
The social media pages back it all up. Post after post of dogs in party hats relaxed pups chilling in the corner and proud owners tagging their dogs as the latest big dog on campus. It is not a fluke. It is part of the BrewDog DNA and BrewDog York is no exception.
If you are tired of asking if your dog can come in or dealing with second-rate treatment when they do this is your answer. BrewDog York is one of the few dog friendly bars and restaurants in York that treats dogs like the legends they are.

Visited BrewDog York for the first time last weekend with my slightly anxious rescue dog. I was worried about how he’d handle it, but the staff were brilliant they gave us space in a quieter corner and didn’t fuss over him (which he hates). Couldn't fault the place or the team there. we’ll be back!
One of the best dog friendly pubs we’ve been to in York. Our Labrador settled right under the table while we tried a few of the amazing craft beers. Which were all brilliant. Staff were lovely and attentive and great with our dog. Will definitely return!
We’re regulars at BrewDog, and it’s hands down one of the most genuinely dog friendly places in the city. Unlike some pubs that just tolerate dogs, this place goes the extra mile. They have a stash of treats behind the bar, always remember our dog’s name and never bat an eye if he gets a little excited. The beer selection is, of course, fantastic. The only tiny downside is that it gets packed on weekends, so we usually visit midweek for a quieter experience. Highly recommend the place, won't be disapointed.
