TakeDoggo LTD is the controller of personal information we collect; however, in accordance with applicable data privacy law, we have appointed representatives in place within the United Kingdom.

Information Rights Under GDPR

Your rights with respect to your own personal information include the following:

 

  • You can exercise your right to access your personal information by submitting a request to us, which we will respond to within a reasonable time frame and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Please note that we may require additional information from you to verify your identity before providing access to your personal information.
  • You have the right to request correction of your personal information if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You can do this by accessing your account on our website or by contacting us directly. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date.
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information if:
    • your personal information if it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or processed, subject to certain exceptions such as compliance with legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. This is also known as the right to be forgotten; or
    • you choose to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal information, where such processing is based on your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. However, we will inform you of this at the time of the request; or
    • you object to the processing of your personal information when there is no legitimate reason for us to continue processing it. In such cases, we will stop processing your personal information, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or if the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims; or
    • there is unlawful processing of your personal information; or
    • there is a need to delete your personal information to meet any legal requirements.

  • The right to restrict the processing of you information, if:
    • that we are processing your personal information unlawfully, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal information instead of deletion. This means that we will only store and use your personal information in limited circumstances, such as when you need it to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; or
    • you contest the accuracy of your personal information, we will restrict the processing of your personal information for the period during which we verify the accuracy of the personal information. This means that we will not process your personal information during that time, except to the extent necessary to verify its accuracy. Once we have verified the accuracy of your personal information, we will then update it accordingly and inform you of the update; or
    • you object to the processing of your personal information and we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds for processing, we may need to restrict the processing of your personal information during the verification period. Once we have confirmed the existence of overriding legitimate grounds, we may resume processing your personal information. If we determine that we do not have a legitimate basis for processing your personal information, we will cease processing it and delete it, unless we are required by law to retain it or we need to retain it to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim; or
    • if we no longer need the information we will retain your personal information for the period necessary for you to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, even if we no longer need it for the purposes of processing. Once the period for legal claims has expired, we will securely delete your personal information.
  • The right to data portability allows you to request that we provide you with a copy of your personal information in a commonly used, machine-readable format, such as a CSV file. You can then transfer this information to another data controller, where technically feasible. This right applies only to personal information that you have provided to us, where the processing is based on consent or the performance of a contract, and where the processing is carried out by automated means.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint before the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
  • You will not usually have to pay a fee to access your personal information however we may charge a reasonable fee if we deem your request/s repetitive, excessive and/or based on unfounded assumptions.

To protect your privacy and ensure that only authorised individuals have access to your personal information, we may need to verify your identity and confirm your right to access your personal information or to exercise any of your other rights. If you submit a data request through a third party, we may take reasonable steps to authenticate the request. These measures are necessary to prevent the disclosure of personal information to unauthorised parties. If we need additional information to process your request, we may contact you for further details. You can exercise some of your rights directly through the personal information section of your account, while for other rights, you can file a request by contacting us directly.

Information Use

We will only use your personal information under the circumstances permitted by you or the relevant legislation.

Pursuant to GDPR, we will use your personal information in one or more of the following circumstances:

  • Processing Information on a Legal Basis – Registration, membership and other contracts; Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  • Improvement of our Services – Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) to provide or improve Services and where your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • Communication – Where you are a registered member, the information uses might be required to perform the contract with you; Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) to communicate with you; Where we need your consent for the information use, we will seek your prior consent.
  • Legal Compliance – Where it is necessary to meet TakDoggo’s obligations.

International Transfers

We take necessary precautions to ensure that your personal information is properly protected when we store or transfer it to countries outside the EEA and the UK, as described in this Policy. These precautions include implementing appropriate contractual clauses or binding corporate rules with third-party service providers and other partners who may have access to your personal information. We also ensure that any such transfer is made in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Additionally, we may rely on the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework or similar mechanisms to ensure adequate protection of personal information transferred to countries outside the EEA and the UK.
